I'm posting this because maybe someone will find it informative or at least interesting. I'm definitely not the best of the best, but I'm one of the
'better' sources on AC.

Worth Mentioning
How to Download Twilights Edward Font for FREE (4,382), published in February when the indexing issues WAS present. If you can get around the
indexing issue (in my case, I promoted it in a few Twilight-related websites), some articles will still do well. This article is getting over 1,000
PVs a month.
There are a few patterns with these stats.
- The majourity of my highest earning articles are C4C/Assignments. My second highest article, the Graduation C4C, was only offered for $2.00
upfront. It is consistently getting over 2,000 PVs a month, even during off months, strangely enough.
- As you can see, controversial articles do well.
- Controversy and sex does even better.
- Common medical conditions do extremely well. And poop...well everyone does it!
- Pro-ana/anorexia articles will do well, because a) fad dieters and wannarexics are always looking for new 'diets' and b) if you put a controversial
spin on it, say like "these diets never work" the pro-anas get offended and will spread the word. Teehee.
- And of course, if you can cover an extremely popular topic but target one area that isn't covered as much, the PVs will soar.
Maybe you guys can use these stats to learn where to go with future articles, or what to avoid. I know many people are hesitant about posting their
own individual stats, but if I can help somebody improve and make more money at AC, it'll be worth it to me.
As an added note, after my free professional myspace layouts articles got indexed, it's been steadily rising already. I'm working on getting it on
the first page. I'm pretty certain this can get me as many PVs as my Twilight article (they're both written in the same format) once I do that.caribbeanmuse - 5/21/2009 at 10:55 PM
interesting stats Annie, thanks it helpsRaiscaraAvalon - 5/21/2009 at 11:42 PM
Thanks Annie! I'll have to come back and really look through this when my brain is far more functional then it is. But at first glance it is very
helpful.
I have no problem posting my stats...but they wouldn't help anyone! onegirlrevolution - 5/22/2009 at 12:02 AM
This is helpful stuff, thanks for posting it. What an interesting variety of content you write! A question that maybe you'll have info about - I have
wanted to delve into some sexuality stuff on AC, but I'm hesitant b/c I'm confused about what they allow and don't allow. When does informational
cross the line into "inappropriate", kwim? What I have an interest in doing pertains more to intimacy issues in relationships (i.e. sex life help).
I've read the TOS, etc., just can't figure out exactly what they don't want.
Anyway, inspiring and helpful - thanks. Oh and I'm sending my daughter the dairy/acne article!!
Mishaannieohh - 5/22/2009 at 05:00 AM
Write about it, but don't get too specific (ie; if you want to write about a loss of self esteem due to a lack of sex, it's okay; if you write about a
loss of self esteem because the flag's only at half mast, that's a no go). The key is to be very vague about it so no specific things are mentioned.
In another recent article I wrote about Gor, I wrote about the various slaves but left out the sexual things they do and the pleasure slaves
specifically so AC wouldn't have a hissy fit over it. AC is super, super PG.cmajaski - 5/22/2009 at 06:52 AM
Great information! I never would've guessed which ones were the big ones. (Except the sexual ones, I could've guessed those
This is very helpful information.
Thanks,

Thanks for sharing these Ann. How much promotion do you do? I know that all those PVs are not just from promotion, but I am curious.moonshadow68 - 5/22/2009 at 10:13 AM
Annie--
I am so impressed. Now I have both you and Amy to emulate onegirlrevolution - 5/22/2009 at 10:37 AM
Thanks much, Annie! Sounds like my initial impression was correct, that AC isn't the venue for that aspect of my writing interests. I have other ideas
for it, though, which I'm sure I'll be bouncing off the board at some point.
MishaAmy Browne - 5/22/2009 at 01:29 PM
thanks for sharing... I too am working on part of this but for more articles... i asked in a thread i started and a few answered inspiration.. so
they are getting this type of info and more... mrsacevedo - 5/22/2009 at 03:10 PM
Annie-
Thanks for the information. I've been trying to decide what direction to take my writing on AC, especially with all the indexing issues and your PV
breakdown really helps me know how to focus my efforts.
As an FYI... I tried clicking on the Whatever you do, make sure not to follow me on Twitter! link (just because it said not to) but the link appears
to be broken. I guess you mean what you say .Amy Browne - 5/22/2009 at 04:40 PM
Thanks for sharing these Ann. How much promotion do you do? I know that all those PVs are not just from promotion, but I am curious.
None until the indexing issue. I did promote by posting in the AC forums, Yahoo Answers, and Digg for a month or two when I first started, but I
stopped doing that once I learned SEO.
Now I take 10-15 minutes every day to promote my newer articles, mostly to get them indexed/ranked higher on Google, hopefully. Kind of a pain, but
it's only 15 minutes out of my day
(I can't make that Twitter link work at all, even when I repaste the same link into the signature. Just my luck!)Kim - 5/23/2009 at 05:54 AM
Great job! I trully believe that the good articles, the ones that people will search for, do not need promotion. You just proved it.
I do RSS my stuff, but only b/c someone told me to. I doubt it helps though. morgan - 5/23/2009 at 09:45 AM
That is so funny that your poo article is number one. (= I remember when my son was younger he had white poo and I searched endlessly to see if I
should take him in to the doc or if it was normal. hehethinkPhD - 5/23/2009 at 10:00 AM
I think you have done an outstanding job. I really like your titles...titles sell the story and grab interest. I am certainly taking notes!
I'm sure this has been answered somewhere, but what do you look for in a daily pv average for articles?
Christina
Sorry, could you be more specific? Do you mean how do you figure out, what's a good average, etc?cmajaski - 5/25/2009 at 08:30 AM
I seem to be losing my mind. I posted a reply somewhere, obviously in the wrong place.
I meant what is the daily pv on a successful article like for instance the poop one.
Sorry if you already covered this somewhere. My mind is not working right lately...
Christinaannieohh - 5/25/2009 at 12:51 PM
I don't really track the daily stats, but currently this month the poop one is at 6,345 views. So if you divide that by 24 (AC last updated the
pageviews up to that date on my account), it would be 264.375 views per day. Those add up fast!
