Are you ready?
Tonight at 12:01 EST the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award begins. That's 11:01 my time. I just reread and polished my pitch, excerpt, and biography and
put all of the folders in the order in which they will be required. The manuscript has been read and reread so many times I can quote it all by heart.
I even remember where the corrections were made.
I have no aspirations of actually winning, I do hope that one of the judges gives it a second look and says "Hmmmm". There will be two winners, but
some of the work will also come to the attention of the judges for further thought.
This year they are accepting self published books so I imagine they will receive 5,000 entries pretty quick. I wish everyone the best of luck. Maybe
someday I'll be able to say "I knew them when."
Don't let fear and common sense stand in your way.
