Sorry you both are having so many problems with this. I haven't had one problem when I submitted the ones I have submitted. I hope they get it fixed pretty soon. Sorry to both of you.

Donna,

I hope you hear something soon since you have a deadline. Good luck to both of you.

I went ahead and tried to submit a second article and boy did I have a big old mess! It combined it with the first article or something and told me I had over 2000 words! Yep, it's broke so I quit trying until I hear from someone!

DONNA, did you ever get everything straightened out?? I hope so. Hear on the first article? Get that second one submitted?

After my first article experience, I've been too busy to tackle the other articles I claimed there at BREAK STUDIO.

I guess part of me is waiting to see if my first article will be accepted so I'll know if they like my writing. I sure don't want to write 3 or 4 more articles until I get some feedback.

Of course,I realize that one article isn't the whole answer, and I wouldn't give up on them without a fair chance.

I got 3 rejected by SEED before I gave up on them. I don't need a bunch of rejected articles that I don't know what to do with!!

Luckily two of those I've been able to suggest as possible topics to BRIGHT HUB's Diet and Nutrition, and she is going to get back to me. I sure hope she says "Yes" because I have them written and will only have to add BH's hyperlinks, references, etc.

I did the same thing, Jackie. I wrote one article and waited until it got accepted before I submitted anymore. Since then another one has been accepted! I still have two submitted and more to write for them. So far I really like writing for them!

I was just wondering today if you two got things straightened out there with your articles. :)

Jackie, are you on Facebook? If so what is your link so I can add you as a friend? Good luck with your first article at Break Studios! :)

I have applied and hope everything goes well. Based on what has been mentioned in this thread, the variety of topics is one aspect of the website that interests me. My writing schedule is pretty flexible at the moment, as I have one article to complete for SEED this week and a few for DS.

HI, CLARISSA

Thanks for the "good luck"!! I submitted my second article last evening so now have two to "hold my breath" about!!

Are you able to read through all their tremendous amount of topics?? I don't have that much time!! But I did zero in on two more that I claimed, and I just hope I get some acceptances from them before I do too many.

Yes, I think they'd be fun and good to write for, so my fingers are sure crossed that they'll like my writing style.

No, I am not on Facebook. I have more than I can handle with all the groups I'm already in. I do twitter but am not real pleased with that because no one ever answers and the messages are so short. But I get info that way from some of my websites, etc.

Hi, again, Donna

Another thing I found out about BREAK that I found out the hard way: I was halfway through an article when I had to stop for dinner last evening, so I pushed "save draft" -- AND EVERYTHING WAS LOST!! I hadn't made a copy yet because I wasn't finished with the article -- I'll never do that again!!

I made a copy of my article when I had to recompose that half and finished it, and that was a good idea, because "save draft" did not work again.

I copied and pasted it back in and then decided to try "preview" first and then "save draft", and it worked.

Thought I would let you know this step so you wouldn't have the same thing happen to you.

CLARISSA and HEATHER,

So glad to hear about your being paid!!

How long was it from when your articles were accepted that you got payment?

How often is BREAK paying?

How many articles have you had accepted opposed to rejected? How many are waiting? It took 6 days for me to hear on my first one, so I had continued to write some more to see what would happen.

I'm holding my breath because my first 3 articles were returned for some revision but with the comment that, after revision, they will most likely be accepted. I resubmitted them yesterday so am crossing my fingers because I'd really love to write for BREAK.

There is sure a lot of choice in topics so far!!

Jackie

Jackie,

Break Studios pays every two weeks. Since we got a payment yesterday we won't get another one for another two weeks. I haven't had any rejections or re-write requests yet. So far so good. I just wish they were faster in reviewing the articles and then I could make some serious money. :)

Hi, Clarissa

Darn, it has to be the weekend when no one seems to work!!

Even though BREAK says they are having editors work "around the clock", I guess that doesn't include weekends!!

So I continue to wait "breathlessly" to hear back on the three revised articles before I try to write more that I have claimed.

One of the editors did apologize for the lateness in reviewing, but I feel like you do -- that I wish they would review quicker, especially when I am waiting to see if I am doing it "right" according to their guidelines.

Another question: Will we be getting a byline and be able to see our articles? Or are they "ghostwriting" that will "disappear" and we won't see them or be given credit?

I am not sure if we will get a byline or not. I don't think we do but I'm not real sure so don't quote me on that. Maybe Stephanie will come on and answer this question for us. :)

I'm happy to report that all SEVEN of my submitted articles to BREAK the first two weeks were accepted and published, and, yes, we get a byline!!!

I was already paid for 3 of them, also!!

It's hard to find the articles since they don't give us a link, but Steph says that they are working on that, working on a way for us to see what is pending in our accounts, etc.

They also hired a bunch more editors, so they are reviewing quicker, thank goodness.

Perhaps you saw my posting of Steph's replies to my e-mails in another "thread" here in AWF??

So I'm back writing for them and will hope for continued success!!!

Steph, is application only open for US residents, or can a poor writer from Amsterdam also apply?

Payment

Hey guys,

Sorry I've been MIA! Been really busy with Break Studios.

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up--

We're officially paying every 1st and 15th of every month. When the 1st or 15th falls on a weekend or holiday, payment will be issued the following business day.

Articles must be approved at least four business days before pay date. We are changing the language in our guidelines and FAQs to reflect this.

Thanks!

Fellow writers..I checked this out and wrote a couple. The pay isn't great, but they do review them in a very timely manner (like within a couple of hours) but payday isn't til Friday so I'll let y'all know how that goes.

Hello. I am new here. Can someone please tell me how to post a new topic? I see no buttons or anything. I have a good source for writers and was going to post a topic about it. Thanks.

In case I cannot post new topics for some reason, I will let you know here:

A company called [redacted by admin] at [redacted by admin] is paying $25 for 250-300 word review articles of websites they assign you. They have a lot of work available, and you do not need to send them a resume or writing sample. You must simply take a test and review a site and then send them your review sample and contact information.

Go to [redacted by admin] and click on their "sample test" section to take the test.

I have been with them now for 2 months and my first month I made $2300 and some change, and my second month I really stepped it up and made $3400.

After they know how many review articles you can handle, they assign you articles in batch amounts.

They pay with PayPal twice a month, or by direct deposit every Monday. All payments are automatic too!

Cheers!

This same post, nearly word for word, is posted on multiple forums... if you're going to spam a board, you should at least learn how to post. I purposely don't let people post in the paying leads to avoid spam like this, and if you'd taken the time to read around you would have realized there was a reason you couldn't post this here.

(sigh) Spam makes me think society, as a whole, is devolving, seriously.

Unfortunately, the reason it still exists is because it does still work. I can't imagine either, but it does.

If they send out 100,000 pieces of spam and only 1% take the bait, that's still a whole lot of money made from it and they don't care about our inconvenience.

I, too, have been successful at Break Studios even though they have gotten more "picky" lately, don't you think? Perhaps it depends on what editor you get.

Payments have been right on time, so that is good.

Acceptances range from "quick" to "slow", don't you find?

The only thing that frustrates me so much is that we are NOT given a link when an article is published. Once accepted, the article used to be published the next day, so I could look at a link I have for recent articles in Mademan, look for it, print it out, etc.

Now I have had to wait as long as 7 or 9 days for articles to be published. How about you? Having to check so many pages of new articles every day without success gets to be aggravating.

ARE THERE STILL OTHERS HERE WRITING FOR BS? WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN FINDING?

Jackie

I'm still writing for them. I haven't found them too diffocult to deal with lately, but then I haven't been as active lately because I had a infection under the root of a tooth (major OWIE!) lol and it was very distracting.

I have just started writing for Break Studios, and so far so good. All of my articles have been accepted. The only complaint I have is with the content pool. Sometimes the article titles don't make sense, or ask you to describe something that is impossible.

For instance: "How to Splice Guitar Cable to USB" is one of their available articles, and after two minutes of research I found that it is impossible to do this.

Another: "How to Make Your 720P TV to 1080P". As far as I could tell, that too is impossible.

Other than that, it has been smooth sailing. They pay on time, and my articles have been approved within two days.

How about Associated Content, Helium, Demand Studios, Bright Hub, Suite101, Bukisa, Text Broker, Constant Content?

That's just a few of the biggies.

Hi Leah,
Welcome to the board. Sometimes companies do not allow overseas writers because it can be a problem with the W8/W9 process and also due to complications with some countries and receipt of paypal. You might inquire of the sites directly to see if they make exceptions.
