Dark Short Stories
Where could one submit a dark short story? I've googled the subject but am new at this and don't know which sites are reputable. Thanks!

Check out duotrope or ralan (both .com) for huge market listings. Esp. of speculative fiction.
Sorry I couldn't narrow it down. Maybe someone else.

'Dark' could fit in different genres. You might want to check out Glimmertrain. They take the literary type story. "From mythcraft to magic
surrealism" try darkfantasy.org. carvezine.com want "emotional jeopardy, soul, and honesty", whatever that means.

Glimmertrain is a good one, and so is Weird Tales ( http://www.weirdtales.net/ ).
WT has been around since 1923 and has published the likes of Bradbury, Lovecraft and many others.
I seemed to be looking down from an immense height upon a twilit grotto, knee-deep with filth, where a white-bearded daemon swineherd drove about
with his staff a flock of fungous, flabby beasts whose appearance filled me with unutterable loathing.

Thanks! I am not certain that the story is "dark", but it does involve the devil's recruitment process and other scarey stuff
I swear I'm a nice person though. Each time I start writing I scare myself beyond belief with what comes out of me; I expect butterflies and rainbows
but the depths of hell and world domination spring forth.
