NPR Contest: Three Minute Fiction
I just submitted a story to Three Minute Fiction. It was a real challenge to write! I doubt I'll win but it was so much fun! The deadline is midnight on April 11th but they will probably promote another one soon. I think the winner gets
interviewed on NPR, which would be great for a budding writer!

That's COOL! I sure won't make this round, but maybe in the future.

I submitted something late last night, so *fingers crossed* - I'll be watching for future contests. This was round four, and it looks like more to
come, so very cool!
It would be neat to hear a story I've written on NPR!
Good luck to all who enter!

Michy

Well if I can think of something tonight, but I am drawing a blank. This does sound interesting though.

I could just kick myself! I sent the story to a friend of mine and she told me that I put the wrong name in the wrong place. I put the name "Mark" where I should have put the name "Michael".
Has anyone ever done that before? I have no clue how I didn't catch that. grrrr.
Good luck to everyone! I guess the winner will be announced June 30th or thereabouts.

As a matter of fact, I did almost that same thing in my first submission to one of the contests here. Fortunately the judges missed it, or overlooked
it. I had a character named Bryson, and once in the story called him Byron.
OOPS!
Michy- I'm betting that you let us do some editing... you said that"we" would improve the ending of that story anyway.

NPR has a program on Monday evenings where someone reads a short story (sometimes their own). That is very enjoyable. It is much longer than three
minutes, though.

I edit all the stories before they go to print - you'll see when it's time to get to that process with yours!

I really liked this one
I confess I had to read it twice to *get* it but I'm very glad I did. The first time I read it reluctantly not only because it wasn't mine but because
I thought it was about gardening and I have the worlds biggest black thumb. I think maybe with a story limited to 600 words, one had to read it at
least twice to understand what the writer is trying to convey. Is this a story by one of our members?
It's so strange that in only a three minute read I was able to adopt such jealousy and anger at Glenn and Kendra!
