How's LAFFN Comiing?

Last night was the first time I worked on my novel this LAFFN. I'm not so sure I will be finishing it this month, but at least I'm working on fiction again.

How is everyone else doing?

July is my month for applying the edits and suggestions Michy gave me. My goal is to do two chapters per day. I'm up to date so far. I worked thru chapters 21 and 22 today, partly. First I do the line edits for each chapter, then go back and do additions/subtractions, etc, then look at re-arranging the order of the chapters or parts of chapters. I've done the line edits for 21 and 22, but I think 21 will need to be taken apart completely and all or most added to different chapters. So I still have that part to do today.

I am anxious to get this done this month, and done properly so it can be sent back to Michy for re-edit. There is a writers conference in Eureka Springs in Oct, and I'd like to have this ready to be able to give the first chapters to an agent or publisher if asked, and the complete thing ready to mail to them if asked.

Today I sent Michy an updated version of my partial draft. It is currently at about 27k words so it will not be done anytime soon. However, I'm committing to finish the first draft (90k - 100k words) by end of January 2011.

I'm not playing... this month for me is "Let's make an all-new media program about my adventures on the NCT" (because the first showing is in about 3 weeks!) I worked on it all afternoon, but I've really only begun. I think I have the music nailed down though.

Thanks to your nudge, I got about 500 words in today. Not huge, but better than nothing, or than staring at facebook!

Did I really post that 3 times? Yikes.

I worked through 2 chapters last night, but didn't add anything new.

Now I'm really committed. I just signed up for the Ozark Creative Writers Conference in Eureka Springs Oct.7-9 and paid my money. I also signed up for a 5 minute session with the Rhonda Penders, editor-in-chief of Wild Roses Press. So I'd better have this baby finished and ready to pitch!

Wow, how cool is that? I'm sure you'll do great.

I started from scratch and have about 5k words so far. There's this internal argument about the whole thing. I want to get it done but it's not going well and I'm not crazy about the characters.

Thanks, Jenn. I'm so excited, but I know I still have tons of work to do on it.

Don't worry about the graphic right now. Just focus on your book. ;)

Whoopee! I met my personal LAFFN goal: I worked through all Michy's edit's and suggested re-writes of my novel and got it back to her before month's end. Now while I'm waiting for her re-read and new suggestions I can concentrate on short stories for the contests on here and the contests being offered for the participants of the Ozark Creative Writers Conference in Oct. No rest for the wicked, or weary, or something!
