Why Why WHY!
Why Why WHY do I have the most brilliant conversations with my characters when I'm out mowing grass and can't do anything about it? POOF, like that I
get done mowing and the conversation ends and the dialogue is lost.
I wish someone would invent a recorder that would actually record whats in my head, not what comes out of my lips.

I have had similiar experiences. In bed, so I keep a notebook and pen beside it.
In the bathtub, I employ same method as above.
They have voice activated recorders. You could shut off the mower (or stop what you were doing) and speak!

I know what you mean! Inspiration seems to hit me when I'm in the shower, mowing the yard, or doing housework. Those are pretty much the only times I
don't have someone talking to me or demanding my attention! My family's gotten used to me suddenly dropping everything to make a mad dash for my
laptop or a notebook. "Out of my way. Momma had a breakthrough. I need to write this now!"

LOL I got myself a nice lil recorder so that I don't need to switch on the lights when I'm already in bed ... or stop when I'm on my way to some place
or other.

I find it ironic we were writing about this topic. Last night I awoke to find more details about the sequel I am currently writing. I got up at three
thirty in the morning to write them down!

Inspiration hots me when I'm sitting on my deck, smoking my pipe and drinking. So I keep a spiral notebook out there. Some of my best thoughts come to
me when I'm in an altered state. In my latest book, they are recovering the treasure and a hired killer is watching them at the bar. They have just
hired Felipe as a guardian. He tells them that he will eliminate the problem as soon as the man goes to the bathroom.
Barbara balks, she doesn't want anyone killed. Felipe asks her, "Ever watch the animal planet Barbara?"
"Yes, I love animals."
"Me too, ever seen when the zebras need a drink? They know that there are crocodiles and lions at the watering hole. They know that some of them
will die, but still they must go, their thirst drives them. Right now, you are a zebra, the lion has his eye on you. He has singled you out of the
herd. You might outrun him this time, but not every time. Eventually he will kill you."

I like the analogy. The kingdom world and the human world aren't all that different.

This really hit home after my first divorce. I had been married for 21 years, I was totally lost as a single person. When I did start going to bars, I
saw that there were predators and prey.

More altered states additions....
Felipe spread a large map on the table asking Frank and John to come and look at it, “Our new adventure starts here.” he pointed to a spot just off
of the Texas Coast, “Padre Island, or the water just offshore that is. In 1554, three Spanish went aground on Padre Island after being blown across
the Gulf by a hurricane. Tons of treasure bound for Spain were lost along with over three hundred lives from hunger, thirst and attacks by the
Indians. They were trying to make it back to Vera Cruz, only one man, a Father Anasthasia made it back to tell of the loss. It is a well documented
wreck site, in nineteen sixty seven, a private company named Platoro Limited located and began to raise the wreck. Erosion of the beach now has the
three ships lying offshore in about eighty feet of water. The state foreclosed on the site claiming it was an archaeological site that belonged to
Texas, but they have done nothing to raise any of it.”
“That’s because they want it all for themselves, typical. But they don’t have the resources to raise it, they can’t use the navy.” John added.
“So it’s just been sitting there?” Barbara asked.
“Ripe for the picking.” Felipe smiled, “But, it is within their territorial waters, this would also have to be carried out discreetly.”
“At least Texas jails are better than Mexican jails.” Ben added looking at them, “Do you want a piece of this action?”
“Well, we already have more money than we know what to do with, and there is the clinic. The people there are counting on us.” Barbara said.
Frank looked at the map, “It’s not about the money any more, it’s about the adventure. I kind of got hooked on the adrenaline of raising the
wrecks under the radar, I miss the excitement and the action. What do you think John.”
John looked at Debra who smiled and licked her lips, “I take that as a yes.” he said to her.
“Not just a yes, but a hell yes.” Debra smiled, “I can’t imagine just going back to a normal boring life either after this. I guess Felipe and his
buddies have been a bad influence on me.” she pouted.
“Yeah, right.” Felipe smiled, “You’re licking your chops just thinking about it. So, are you in?”
Frank looked at Barbara who smiled and winked, “I’m in.” he said.
“We are in.” she added.
John rubbed his forehead, “Here we go again, just when you thought it was safe to go into the water.” Debra just laughed.
“Goldfish.” Felipe smiled, looking at them.
“Goldfish?” Barbara asked, “What do you mean by that?”
“If you put a goldfish in a small bowl, it just grows so much, it stays small. But, if you put it in a large tank, it grows really large. That’s
funny, don’t you think? They grow to the size of their enclosure, people don’t do that, only goldfish. Your tank just got a lot bigger, you are
growing into it.” Felipe smiled holding up his glass. They all tapped glasses and drained their drinks.
