Cup of Comfort quitting

A member of my local writers critique group wanted to submit to Cup of Comfort, but they are stopping publication of the series. The next one, due out shortly, will be the last one.

I'd love to have some suggestions about where he can submit the same type essays and stories as would be published in CoC. Any ideas?

Mood: Glittery, but maybe that's from paint fumes.

I was going to suggest Patchwork Path Books, but they are also apparently quitting. I have a story in one of their books that was published this last year. I checked Chicken Soup and they are still asking for stories.

Thanks, Cyndee, I'll refer him to Chicken Soup. Any place else, folks?

I can't believe both Patchwork Path and Cup of Comfort aren't going to publish any longer. I loved submitting to them (as well as Thin Threads and Chicken Soup), not that I've ever won...darn!!!!

Re Michy's thread re the one book for 2011, when I suggested "essays," these were the types of stories I was referring to, as well as "creative non-fiction." Maybe this leaves the door open for Michy to do one - or maybe not, if they're closing...!!
