Question about a tagline on the cover of a book

I have a tagline I am going to put on the cover of an ebook. It is:

Sometimes hell leaves a trail...

The question is, should the word hell be capitalized on the cover for the tagline? I know it is a proper noun, but does it being in a tagline somehow preempt the usage of the capital letter so as not to be visually distracting, or should it follow regular rules and be capitalized in that usage?

If Hell is being used as a proper place name then I'd say yes, capitalize it. If it's simply generic "life is hell", then no.

I'm with Melinda on this.

If you mean "Hell" as in, the place some people believe 'bad' folks go after they die and that the devil or satan or whatever has dominion over it, then yes, that's a proper name and it should be capitalized.

If you mean hell, like someone is going through hell (meaning bad stuff is happening) or 'war is hell' that type of thing, then no, it wouldn't be. My take on the tagline is that you mean 'hell' as in really bad things, and so it probably wouldn't be capitalized, and I think it 'looks' better with lower case for this purpose too.

x2 on the above.

I seemed to be looking down from an immense height upon a twilit grotto, knee-deep with filth, where a white-bearded daemon swineherd drove about with his staff a flock of fungous, flabby beasts whose appearance filled me with unutterable loathing.

Just keep writing and the good stuff will come.
