So Ticked at Amazon! Arggghh!

So here it is, end of February, and I've already filed my taxes...

AND NOW Amazon tells me they screwed up on the 1099s and they are sending revised ones. It was off by 300 bucks. Sigh. now I have to file an amended return...

... seriously... how can a company this big screw up this badly and then take so long to correct it?

Argh!

Okay, enough complaining. Did they screw up on anyone else? They sent an email out last week saying they were going to be sending revised ones, and I got it in the mail today. Anyone else?

Wow... that really, really sucks. You'd think they would be more careful than that, and, yes, quicker.

Yes, indeed that sucks, but let me put it in perspective: last week Carnegie Mellon University, one of the world's top computer science schools sent out emails to 800 people telling them they were accepted into the the Master of Science in Computer Science program, and then the next day, said, oh wait, no, that was a mistake, you're out of luck. Of course, people had called everybody with the good news, maybe given notice to their landlord or boss, whatever, major upheavals, not to mention the emotional pain. CMU is staying mum about just how this could have happened, but some victims are talking lawsuit.

Oh, wow! How disappointing! At least mine is just filing the amended return, but it's quite time consuming and amended returns can flag you for audit--been through that once, and those are a pain in the butt-end-us!

Those poor students!

That sucks! I would be pissed because you are the one who has to refiled and like you said, it can be a flag to IRS.

The university thing is awful. Those poor people!
