Now that is a most excellent list.

I have managed to not murder my hubby when he speaks to me as I am halfway through writing down an idea. If I hold my pen up in the air towards him, he shuts up.

I think I should print that and pin it to my board.

My husband used to Always ask when a book would be published or ask when the money was coming from it. Made me so crazy I wanted to rip his lips. He never has figured out to leave me alone if I'm writing. If I say something, he's upset . . . never a fun moment then! Strangely, now that I self publish he doesn't bug me so much about when the money will roll in.

My kids were/are actually better at leaving me alone while I write and knowing when it was safe to talk to me. Except the youngest who if he felt the need to stop and give me a quick hug, kiss and I love you, Mom, he did. Rather often.. Was a bit annoying sometimes, but I accepted every offering . . . you just never know when that stuff is going to dry up all of a sudden. Now he's married with a three year old of his own and loving those moments himself!

Love the gift suggestions. You'd think they'd figure that out. But . . . they don't! Okay, my youngest bought me a gold pen for one of our anniversaries. But he bought such a skinny one I could never hold it to write with it. Lol, it just kept sliding right through my fingers! So I put one of those pen grippers on it, but that detracted from the looks of the pen . . . ah well, at least I could hang on to it then! Later, when I acquired my computer, I always hoped for floppies back in the day, then later blank discs, ink and paper for the printer . . . nope. Not even a card most of the time.

By the time I married, I'd already learned to cope with all the rejections. Papered my office walls with 'em. He was more dejected than I was over them! Another delay in the money coming in!

Mood: Writing like mad!

[*] posted on 10/10/2015 at 10:13 AM

I had a problem with my boys standing in the doorway near my desk when I was writing... just hovering there and waiting for me to give them attention. I made a 10-inch tall sandwich board sign for the edge of my desk facing the door. One side says "Not writing! Free to bug" and has a big smiley face. The other side has "Writing! Go Away!" with a stick figure pierced by many arrows.

Now all I have to do is somehow make my Mom stop calling, "Can I tell you something or are you writing?" every 15 minutes during the evening news and I'm good.

The only person who asks if my book is published yet is my Dad, and he's not all there anymore... so I blame it on that.

Love the list. Wished my writing zone did not only exist when the house is asleep but will manage.

Oh and not sure about bringing cupcakes, not big on the icing.

People distractions are the worst for me. If I say I'm going to slap some words down, do NOT ask what I'd like for dinner in the middle of it, nor tell me of a cute facebook post or tell me your friend is coming into town. I'm busy trying to keep my MC alive or kill him off brilliantly; this petty real-world stuff only annoys.

I seemed to be looking down from an immense height upon a twilit grotto, knee-deep with filth, where a white-bearded daemon swineherd drove about with his staff a flock of fungous, flabby beasts whose appearance filled me with unutterable loathing.

Just keep writing and the good stuff will come.

Yeah--I really liked the list too. The browser history part I've mentioned before. That I'm probably on some list... somewhere.
Being watched.
