I don't like Twilight. I'm sad that it made so much money when the writing is so poor.
That being said, I'm apparently the ONLY person on earth that doesn't find her gender swap edition to be something that should banish her to the pits
of Hell itself.
I think this goes along with my "I'm a hack" post. I actually think it's a great marketing decision. I've even read writing exercises about character
that say you should write a scene from the other sex's POV. Not that a published novel is a character exercise... but why not?
It's obvious Twilight is not grand art. Why not give the fans something they want and make more money doing it?
I've actually considered something similar for one of my projects... though not just swapping genres, but telling the same story from a completely
different POV. I think it would be interesting. Maybe everyone else would think it's a cheap trick.
