Looking for article about Amazon

Within the last couple of weeks I have read an article about Amazon tightening requirements on the books they publish. It said they were going to start looking more closely at books that had very low numbers and/or several one and two star ratings. They were going to particularly look at reviews that mentioned books that mentioned editing.

Now I can't find the article/blog. Anyone else see this and tell me how to get back to it? I've tried Googling, but that didn't help.

Hi Nancy!

I found two related articles from last week that may pertain to what you were seeing (or not). I'm including links below:
http://goodereader.com/blog/e-book-news/kindle-e-books-will-have-a-...

and

http://johndopp.com/writers/amazon-kindle-spelling-mistakes/?utm_ca...

I found an Amazon Community discussion on these articles here: https://kdp.amazon.com/community/thread.jspa?threadID=282003&start=0...

The long and short of it seems to be that if you have major formatting issues which make your book illegible, major typo issues which make it gibberish, or major portions or text missing, you can expect to receive an email from Amazon asking you to correct the deficiencies and telling you that they are suspending your sales until your fixes are made. Or, at least, that was my very quick and dirty read. I'll have to give it a more in-depth scan to be sure I got it right - but that sounds reasonable (and Amazon usually is reasonable).

Hope that helps.

Thanks, Lyn. I'll look at those and see if that is what I read. I want to share it with someone.
