That's great... I was hoping I wasn't the only one!

Let me know if you have any stories to share... I'd love to see what other people are doing.

Paranormal romance seems to be really popular right now and vampires - which is great because who doesn't love a little magic and mystery ;)

I'm working on a couple of short stories in the historical genre right now. (There may or may not be a vampire or two...)

If I work up the courage I might post for critique.

That's great!

I'm determined to finish a story and submit it to Harlequin.
I'm about halfway through one that I thought would be good for the ebooks line (because they only have to be 10-15000 words which is less intimidating to me).
Now I'm not sure if it's steamy enough... which probably means that it isn't.
I just keep saying - finish it, obsess over the details later...

I'm so excited about hearing from other writers - I'll look forward to reading your stories :)

I'm currently working on a fantasy romance novel. No vampires, but a really hot wizard dude.

Funny you should ask. I've been trying to write anything but romance, but i just seem to veer towards it... I begin a horror and look out!!! It turns all mushy.... same with all my tragedy stories... I told T that I guess i got to just go with it and maybe it'll kill itself off lol... In Highschool thats all I wrote for no reason at all... welll that and noone else would see it. anyhow thats my two cents (in actuality its 4.3 cents)

Yeah, I really enjoy writing and all my stories end up focusing on relationships and love - so why fight it!

This is an old post but I thought I would answer. I write romance stories. I have one complete novel that I wrote quite a few years ago. I'm working on polishing it up a bit. I have another that is about halfway finished.

(I know... old post)
I cannot seem to manage to write anything that doesn't have romance in it. No matter what it is! I try to write someting - anything - it hits a slow spot, needs a twist, BAM! somebody's pregnant. Bah.

I think I'm just going to give up and plain out write ROMANCE. I'm not even going to try to make it different. Gah. *stabs romance*

All of my work is focused on relationships too. I just have trouble describing sex scenes.

I tried to find the video clip they showed on the news last night, but no luck. I did find this article from the NY Times, though. It's about how people are flocking to romance novels to escape these troubled times.

Romance has ALWAYS been quite, uhm, titillating... while it's not 'best seller' worthy, there is a lot of regular money in writing and publishing romance. It sells.

The story I just finished for this month's contest isn't a romance, but it could be with some expansion. I have been thinking about after the contest/anthology, depending on what happens with the judging, I could expand it into a book, and romance then could become a part of it. I was more interested in the 'Fantasy' aspect at this time. Depending, Michy, on the rules and regs of what I can do with it IF it gets included in the book. I just got a critique back from a member of my writers' group and he said he can see it as a TV series. I feel good about it being the start of something bigger.
