Thanks. :)

Oddly enough, I had a similar situation just yesterday at Walmart. Aiden (my autistic son) was having a bit of a meltdown. The best thing to do for him at that point is to back him into a corner or a wall and kinda press on him and talk quietly. Sounds weird but it helps him calm down.

Some lady walking by said, "Why don't you spank that boy's ass?" in a very nasty tone.

I just shot her a look and said, "Because I love my son and spanking doesn't cure autism."

I do see a minor problem thought but I hesitate to bring it up.. the problem is not enough unsent letters! I do read them all even though I do not comment on all of them. I'd love to see two a day, but I do understand that would make them not as special.

Amy, I will eventually start doing more - right now, to be frank, I can't afford to pay for two per day.... I set a very specific budget for this, so that I'm not offering more than the anticipate return on it... at least, for the first book collection. The blog makes me nearly zero money, but it builds interest, I hope.

That's why I started the confessions letters.... they will bypass the normal review times (I have someone else reviewing them for appropriateness) and then they will go up right away. I don't know how many people will submit for free though - but it's open for those who want to, who just want to get something out or off their chest, so I'm hoping that will pick up as the word spreads on it.

After the first book comes out, I should see if I can break even on it or make a profit, and I'll better know how to handle the budget and what the blog can afford. If the first book does well, I'd like to start putting up two or three posts per day, and I think we will have the submissions to handle that.

We'll see.... but I'm optimistic.

Michy

No Andi, your not! I completely agree with Andi. the burgundy/red mix is too much. I also generall find white text difficult to read...though that's what I have the forum set to, so who knows?

OMG! I got accepted for the book! OMG!!! Thank you Michy so much! I was not expecting this. I checked the submission status and noticed you reviewed ones for the 11th so I checked my email and I saw the email. I was so nervous opening it up. I was afraid it would be a rejection. Oh thank you so much, Michy! You don't know how much this means to me.

Ok, I don't have any ink to scan the release to you. I could go to the library and print the release and fax it to you. That is my only option right now since I don't have ink for my printer. Stupid ink is so expensive. I don't care what it takes, I am getting that release back to you.

So now I can finally send you some more letters I have written. Oh I am so happy! Anyone else get an acceptance today? :)

Clarissa, since it's only going in the book and not the blog, I won't need the release until around June or so... so take your time and don't stress over it.

It was a moving letter, one I'm sure many others will relate to - it was worthy of the book.

I already called my mom and she is so proud of me. She is telling everyone at work tomorrow! LMAO! I can't stop shaking!

Thanks, Amy. You will get something soon. Michy reviewed ones up to March 11th and mine was sent in on March 11th. You will get an acceptance, I know it! :):lol::)

Thank you guys! I am still shaking. I emailed my sister because she told me the other day how good of a writer I was so I had to share the great news with her. I called my mom and I wish I could call my mother-n-law but she is in bed. Hubby woke up and I told him and he knows it is a letter to him about his pill problem. He isn't mad, he's happy for me. He is taking his pills right anyway finally. Oh my, I need to calm down a little. Wow! :)

Mood: Excited about the New Year!

[*] posted on 4/24/2009 at 11:13 AM

Yes I have calmed down now, lol. My mom asked me last night if I would be able to sleep because I was so excited. So I watched t.v until I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore, lol. I slept pretty good!

Oh I can't wait to see it in the book. My husband told my mother-n-law before I woke up and as soon as I got up she wanted to talk to me. She told me how proud she is of me and that I am the only daughter-n-law who has enough brains to get published like this, lol. I am her favorite! She can't stand the other two, lol.

I also asked her if she wanted to get into writing for Unsent Letters. She likes writing letters and I told her that she could write it and I would type it out for her and send it to Michy from my computer is Michy doesn't mind me doing it like this. She doesn't have a computer. She said she would love to do it just to get some things off her chest.

Yeah, I'm done bouncing off the walls now, lol. I am still so happy though and I don't think anything can wipe this smile off of my face for a while. Thank you all for the congratulations! :)

Great job Clarissa!:Champagne2x: and *throws confetti*

Failure is not an option. I will not fail.

I always had stories in my head and thought I was crazy. I now know those stories are called my muse. Just because I have a name for it doesn't mean I'm not still crazy.
