Congrats Clarissa!! I love the whole format. I write lesson plans so I don't get to put my emotions into them, but the unsent letters is a great way
to release! I can't imagine getting release AND getting published in a book lol..that would be more effective than anitdepressants!

Thanks! It is better than anti-depressants, lol. It is an awesome feeling! Now I need the patience to wait for the book to come out. Until then, I
will be sending more.

Nice job Laurie!

I'm not getting emails when you add letter on Unsent Letters. I know I signed up at least twice. I don't mind checking the blog everyday, though .

The emails did not go out on the Mother's Day Letters because there were so many of them, so I turned that off for them so you guys wouldn't get an
email for each one.
It's turned back on now and you should get them for any new letters - I just didn't 15 emails coming into everyone's inbox at once and I wasn't sure
how many letters there would be total, etc.
Anyhoo, it should be back working now!

Michy

I think I sent mine on March 12, 2009 - do you know if you received it? And am I correct in assuming that we have to wait until we've received a
rejection letter before sending a second submission?
Thanks!

Hi. I wrote a submission for Unsent Letters recently and have just now tried to submit it. I've read the submission guidelines and see that it needs
to be a .doc I have OpenOffice, but I'm not sure how to get it in .doc form. Right now it's in .odt
Can anyone help? Sorry to be so technically-challenged sometimes!
Thanks in advance.

Sharie, when you go to save, click Save As, scroll down the drop menu until you see Word 97-2003. That should save it as a .doc.

Just one more question...
When Michy says double spacing, does that mean I can go back in under formatting and go to paragraph and choose double space there? That's what I did.
It then converts the document to a very spaced out version. With an empty line between lines, and two empty lines between paragraphs. Not that you
all didn't know that Just making sure that's the right way for what Michy is
wanting. And do you normally double-space (with the space bar, I mean) at the end of sentences? Old habit of mine...Not sure again what's "correct"
for these type of submissions.
Thanks again!
Oops! That's two questions, huh? HA

You probably have some spacing set after the paragraph. Make sure it says 0" under the section that mentions spacing between paragraphs (I believe
it's in the formatting tab).
Don't double space bar after sentences, only one. I think the double space bar is out for good.

Thanks-I will go in and "un-doublespace" after sentences. Hard habit to break...
My Paragraph settings under Formatting are:
Indent--
Before text 0.00"
After text 0.00"
First Line 0.03"
Automatic box checked
Spacing--
Above paragraph 0.00"
Below paragraph 0.00"
Line Spacing--
Double
Register-true
Activate box UN-checked
Should the Line Spacing be Double? That's what I thought the Unsent Letters Sub. Guidelines page said, but???
Thanks for all your help.

Sure. Thanks! I like your mood. Discombobulated. That's me too right now. Darn hormones. And recession. And, me!
Just one more question... How do I get it to you in that format? Email as an
attachment?
Look at me...still double spacing after sentences. Good grief.

I have a question about the submission guidelines on this. I know you want them to have .3 autoindent on the first lines, but do they need to have
the .3 autoindent on the "Dear So and So" line as well? It looks a little weird doing that, but I don't want to be DQ'd for having my formatting
wrong.

I don't reject anyone just for formatting... my thing is, the closer you get it to how I need it, the less work I'll have to do, the more money I
might want to offer...LOL
No, the dear line should not be indented - real simple, just go back to the line at the front and backspace.
Thanks for asking though!

Michy

Michy,
I lost track while I was gone. I used to watch the stats regularly just to see how many you were getting. I know you have a large pending pile but
how many have you accepted? The pending pile alone says the site is still doing great. Congrats on such a great start up.
