All New Forum Members - Start Here!
Hi Everyone!
If you are new, so that I don't have to keep typing this over and over for you, I decided to write one post here and include all the details
together.
THEME COLORS / CHANGES
You can change your theme for the board by going to your User Control Panel, and you can pick any theme you like, including black, green, yellow,
coffee, Ice, Guitar, etc... all sorts of neat themes to try!
CRITIQUE GROUP
We have a critiques and feedback forum here on the board that is password protected so only members can get to it and your writing is not available to
the public or to be indexed on search engines.
You'll need a password to get in. The password is: password
If you are brand new to the board, please take the time to get to know the other writers here before you put up work and expect a critique. Also,
shorter critiques that tell the reviewer exactly what you're looking for--reader review, editing, formatting, or just opinions--will be more likely to
get a favorable response.
Remember, the reviewers are other board members, just like you, and are not obligated to provide you a review. Be gracious and be grateful and you'll
almost always find people willing to help out in that section.
ADULT CONTENT / EROTIC WRITING
We have an adult erotic and porn writing section on the board. You must be 18 to enter that section. It is invisible until I (Michy) add your username
to it. If you write erotic writing, pornographic writing or if you need help with a sex scene or adult themed part of a regular novel or short story
and want to talk about it and get feedback, you can find instructions right here in the announcement forum about how to get access to that part of the
board.

Accentuate Writers Forum (AWF) has lots of opportunities for getting published and earning money.

respond as quickly as possible.
PRIVATE MESSAGES
U2U is the internal PM/email system on the board. You can U2U any member by clicking on their profile or by clicking on the U2U button under any post
that person makes. Please keep U2Us to a minimum so you respect other member's time. If it's personal and you want to take it off the board, please
feel free to do so.
Live Chat
We have a live chat feature that is like a chat room at the top of the Coffee Break section of the board. It doesn't currently get used very often,
but we'd like to see it grow in the future.
Quick Tips
Most of our members use Today's Posts, a link on the top left-hand side of the screen to browse around the board. This is a great feature to catch up
quickly with what is current. However, keep in mind that password protected forums like the erotic section and the critique section will NOT show up
in Today's Posts if you haven't gone in and entered the password on that forum at least once that day.
Pictures / Avatars
Our system will automatically resize some pictures that are posted on the board through the upload feature so that it doesnt' mess up the board's
formatting. Pictures using the hotlink feature that are too large for the board to accommodate will be removed by admin.
Avatars must be 200 X 200 in size or smaller, and you will need a clear URL that is not behind a password on another site in order to put up your
avatar. If you cannot host one with a place like Flickr, we will be happy to host the picture for you. All you have to do is email Michy and include
your user name and the photo and she will get it up usually within a day or two.
Additional Questions?
If you have any additional questions, ask them. Everyone on the board is quite friendly and helpful, and someone sure knows the answer or will look
for it.

You can subscribe to threads to get an email whenever a forum topic you have started or written to has a response. You can click on "Receive e-mail on
reply?" or you can click on the subscribe near the top left of each thread.
Avatars have to be hosted elsewhere and you'll need the link and it must be smaller than 200 X 200. If you need help with an avatar, email me.

Michelle - any way to make this kind of a sticky, so it is always visible?
I seemed to be looking down from an immense height upon a twilit grotto, knee-deep with filth, where a white-bearded daemon swineherd drove about
with his staff a flock of fungous, flabby beasts whose appearance filled me with unutterable loathing.

It is stickied at the top of the 'announcement' sections... but I don't think it can be stickied at the top of the 'today's posts'. Most 'new' forum
members don't use today's posts anyway, until we tell them it's there...LOL

All you have to do is send me the pic you want to use, and I'll resize, upload and send you back the link.
If you ever want to take it down or change it, all you have to do is send it to me.
Some people use Flickr to host theirs and resize it - if you use an online source, it must be smaller than 200 X 200.
I really don't mind hosting it though, so feel free to send it!

Just added / changed the info above to make it more clear.
If you guys know of some good things to add for the newbies, let me know... I'll eventually have Ryan work all of these things into the FAQs here on
the board, but I've been working him so hard recently on my projects, he hasn't had time!
