Accentuate Erotic Fiction Submissions Now Open!

If interested in submitting, please keep the following in mind:
Accentuate is not looking for pornography, neither are we looking for romance writing. What we seek is something somewhere in the middle: romance with
a heat level that sizzles, while still telling a great story!
What we want:
* Fantastic sex scenes
* A story that is compelling and punctuated with fantastic sex scenes
* Intimacy and sexuality
* Sizzling sexual heat levels
* Believable, complete characters and character development
* Believable, complete story and story development
* Quality writing that is well-edited and as close to publication-ready as possible
What's Acceptable:
* Consensual sex between adult characters
* Straight, gay, bisexual sexual activity
* Alternative sexual lifestyles or activity (BDSM, etc)
* Kink and intrigue or straight and narrow with heat
* Thinking outside the box (or in this case, the bed)
* Covertly 'illegal' sexual activity
What's not Acceptable:
* Non-consensual rape or physical/sexual absue
* Non-consensual sexual activity (including sex while drugged or intoxicated where consent is not obvious)
* Anything involving people below legal adult age (18 is minimum)
* Overtly illegal sexual activity
When writing, keep three main things in mind: Heat, Legality, Consensuality
We understand that, for some people, things like rape-play and fantasy scenes of violence and rape are perfectly acceptable sexual practices. However,
for this particular anthology project, there should be absolutely no mistaking that all parties involved in any sexual activity are 100% willing and
able to consent to that activity.
Payment:
Author will receive an offer for advance, ranging from $10 to $250 per story, as well as being offered a royalty paying contract based on the final
edited word count percentage of their story versus the entire word count of the anthology. Author will receive royalty statements every quarter, for
as long as the book is in print.

You are more than welcome to submit multiple stories... as long as they are all quality stories, I didn't put a limit on the number of submissions on
this one.
I hope to have several 'themed' anthologies, so I can spread out submissions that are accepted over the different themes they fit... so start editing
and get 'em in!

Oooh, that's interesting Michy. Just sent one but will take some time to check through the others. Is it acceptable if the characters are the same in
a couple of them? It's just that the other one I love and think would fit is from the same series of stories as the one I have just sent.

your characters... maybe they'll seek you out to buy your novels...

I have never written it. It seems to be a very fine line in what I like to read. It doesn't take much to push it into porn,which I don't care for, it
is boring, but I do like Romance with sizzle. I think it would take a good writer (better than me) to get it just right. Romance with no sex is
stupid. In a book I read once the heroine turns up pregnant and I thought 'How did that happen? They never did anything."

Providing it is well written (and there is not so much dwelling on the 'ins and outs' - if you catch my drift) I don't mind reading erotica in any
form. If something is well written and has a proper story and the sex isn't gratuitous ...ie - they left the cinema and had wild sex in the car. They
got home and had mad sex on the kitchen table. They woke up and had sex hanging from the light fixture.... you see what I'm saying  ... I say go for it. More people enjoy it than like to admit to it in my
experience.

I agree with you completely. I'll read anything that holds my attention. Christan Dodd is very erotic , and Clan of the Cave Bear series are very graphic.
Although the genres are different, they weave sex in and round out the story. While I haven't tried writing this genre, I may want to give it a try.
I need to knuckle down and work on Savant. I have a couple of scenes, one involves masturbation. Another one is steamy and oral sex is
involved.
I've had trouble with these scenes and maybe this challenge can help even if my story doesn't get picked.
I didn't see a word limit. Did I miss that somewhere else?

Through the living room window, I spy Giselle on the porch. From the house across the street, she had scurried to see me. Who could blame her, such a
love-struck innocent, unaware of all my other conquests throughout the neighborhood.

I think I'm going to force myself to write and submit something.
For some reason, I'm scared of erotica. I'm certainly not scared of all the stuff that goes into it (or ... ahem... reading it) I think what I'm most
nervous about is not being able to write it so it sounds cheesy (and cheesy sex is never good).

Let's face it, there are only so many ways the bits can fit together (and it does get boring and ever more difficult to find new ways around it) so
the important thing for me is telling the story around the sex. The sex is secondary to the reason for the sex, if that makes sense.
And Merlin.... I want to know what happened next! Were there claws as well as teeth? Did you leave your mark? Did fur fly?
