Create the Most Horrible Wedding That's Out of This World

Create the Most Horrible Wedding That's Out of This World

The theme of this contest is the wedding that goes horribly, horribly wrong. But as a twist, the story must be set in a science fiction or fantasy setting. Other than that, use your imagination and have fun.

We're looking for the most creative, most entertaining story. One that melds a disasterous wedding with a credible science fiction and fantasy setting. Key elements that we'll be looking for include:

* Well conceived characters
* Credible science fiction and fantasy settings
* A creative and original story
* A well written story.

The story should be a minimum of 1,000 words but under 3,500 words.

Prize: $100.

Oh my gosh, this sounds like fun!
It's going on my wall of planned submissions.

Darn it all to heck... Wedding's are great. Would be easier to write about the worst conceivable marriage.... My first one would get the $100 plus a sympathy bonus... lmao... Great contest Idea!

Don't be shy, Creativemind! We're a friendly bunch.

Welcome aboard!

:seeya:

I also wanted to point out that the horrible wedding contest ended last August, according to the site, but they do have other contests open it seems.

I like the idea, a lot... maybe it would be a good contest idea? a writing exercise?

Tom, why don't you go put it up in the Writing Prompts and let's see what you guys come up with for fun.... or you can all do a start a story/finish a story in this thread about horrible weddings - where each person can pick a new disaster to befall our hapless couple:

I cleared out all the old start/finish stories in the thread when we were merging to the cloud server, so there was fewer things to save in the database, so right now, that is a completely empty part of the board that no one is using and it was soooo much fun before!

All you have to do is open two threads - one for the story with your opening scene, and then a second one for 'discussion' so you don't interrupt the story with discussion.

http://accentuatewriters.com/forumdisplay.php?fid=24

There's the board part for it - I would love if you guys started some new stories there!

I'd love to see more parts of the board being used too - we all seem to congregate in one or two small areas but there's so much here!

Love and stuff,
Michy

Sounds like fun! I'll try and start one tonight unless someone beats me to it.
