Anyone else?

So tell us what your book is about and send us a link!

My book's name is Reluctantly Human. I'm waiting to tell the plot until I have the teaser written.

What about you?

Let's all add each other as buddies!

That's me!

My book this year is a fantasy book about a serial killer. It will be told 1/2 from the POV of a mentally challenged young man who is unwittingly messing with the fabric of magical reality.

I'm using the title "Blood Remnant," but I suck at coming up with titles.

My book is about these people, there are 15, but of course the story follows one of them, Missy. Before the start of the story, they are all kidnapped, none of them knows why. They all escape together, but they can't find a single common thread between them, until they meet Jack, a former member of the group that kidnapped them all to begin with. Story takes place between 4-6 months after the escape, as they continue to make their way to safety.

And it still has no title. I want to name it after the group of kidnappers, but I can't come up with a name for them.

forgot to say: it's a YA novel, and I'm thinking about publishing it on Lulu.com for my little sister for her birthday in march, if I can get it edited by then.

How do you add author info? I click on edit author info and type stuff in, but it doesn't save it.

ETA: Duh, I didn't scroll down far enough to see the Submit button.

http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/513293

My Novel is the second one in a series. The first is called "The Birth of Jaiden"

This one is called "The Rise of Jaiden"

This Novel is of the paranormal/urban fiction genre. Jaiden is a very powerful witch, as a child she was found by Alex, the vampire and raised by him. She holds the key to the fate of the world in her hand, but does not know it. Levine, villian vampire, kidnaps her and turns her against her adopted father, Alex and the rest of the council members she has grown to love.

oohhhh exciting, I cannot wait to write this!

Okay. That's freaky.

I have a half-finished vampirism-as-a-virus novel, which deals with genetic engineering and evolution, called Hypodermic on my hard drive.

I haven't decided on a title or plot yet. It's going to be either a vampire/werewolf dark comedy type of thing, in English, or an alternate world fantasy story with a guy who refuses to become a hero, in German. While I try to make up my mind, here's me!

Ok, y'all. I just added all of you and I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED! Where are your updated word counts? It's November 2nd already, chop chop! November only comes once a year, don't miss out on the fun.

After winning in '07, I tried and failed to complete my NaNo novel last year. I'd decided NaNo wasn't in the cards for me months ago but had a change of heart yesterday afternoon. I couldn't bear to watch from the sidelines. :P

Need some distraction? Follow the #nanowrimo on Twitter. There are TONS of other wrimos posting their latest word counts, discoveries and tips.

Come on, everybody, let's have some fun!

It's worth pointing out that if you use a widget from the NaNo site instead (found at http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/widgets), it will update your wordcount automatically. But, they do have their down times, I believe, so it mightn't show up 100% of the time.

I'm on 6516 words now. A bit behind, but better than I expected! Writing in German is proving to take longer than English, both because it's a different keyboard layout, and because I have to check the dictionary more often. But overall, it's going okay!

How's everyone doing?

Trying to catch up to a friend aiming for 100k is proving to be highly motivating. lol. I like a good challange (as though 50k words in a month wasn't enough of one...)

I can't figure out how to get a widget at the NaNo site. There is nothing on the Widgets page except the text that describes the different widgets.

I'm closing in on 10K. This is so exciting! I've never actually written something of this length before, just short stories. And it is exhilarating to just write without worrying about how awful it sounds!! I know I can go back and fix it later. Wheee!

Melanie, are the images not showing up for you? Can you see the one in my sig? They were down for a while, but seem to be back now. They should be showing up with your username and stats, if you're logged in. To get the one I have in my sig, you'd copy and paste this code:

<img src="http://www.nanowrimo.org/NanowrimoUtils/NanowrimoMiniGraph/423279.png" /> and replace the number at the end with your own user number (the number in the URL of your NaNo author page).

And... I'm at 8,000 now. Yay! Almost caught up now!

I can see your widgets now. I didn't have any code on the NaNo widgets page! Weird.

I'll go check again so everyone can see my dismal word count.

Don't sweat it Melanie, your word count has to be way ahead of mine.
But I blame it on the fact that I just started last night. Literally. The idea popped into my head and I just went nuts writing. Now if only I could type as fast as the ideas come I might be caught up by Sunday...I hope. So miserably behind. bleh! haha

I just hit 10,059 words! Finally on-target! I'm very happy.

Going to a write-in tomorrow, which I've never done before. I'm kind of excited to see what it'll be like. Anyone here ever done anything like that?
